Job Purpose:
The International Sales Specialist is responsible for expanding the company’s market share and driving revenue growth within international markets. This role focuses on identifying new global business opportunities, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with international clients and distributors, and managing the end-to-end export sales process.
Key Responsibilities
• Global Market Research: Analyze targeted international markets to understand consumer needs, monitor competitor activities, and identify emerging trends and regulatory requirements.
• Lead Generation & Business Development: Prospect, qualify, and convert international leads (importers, distributors, B2B clients) into active business accounts.
• Account Management: Nurture long-term relationships with existing global clients, ensuring high satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
• Negotiation & Deal Closing: Prepare customized commercial proposals, present product value propositions, and negotiate pricing, volumes, contract terms, and payment methods to secure profitable deals.
• Logistics & Export Coordination: Collaborate closely with the shipping and logistics departments to ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and the preparation of required export documentation (e.g., Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, Commercial Invoices).
• Financial Tracking: Monitor international payment terms and collections (such as Letters of Credit or wire transfers) to ensure timely and secure financial transactions.
• Trade Show Representation: Represent the company at international trade shows, conventions, and networking events to elevate brand awareness and generate high-value leads.
Required Skills & Core Competencies:
• Language Proficiency: Native or bilingual fluency in English is required. Fluency in a second language relevant to target markets (e.g., Spanish, French, Mandarin) is highly advantageous.
• Advanced Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to influence decision-makers and close complex sales cycles across diverse business landscapes.
• International Trade Expertise: Strong understanding of global logistics, customs regulations, international payment methods, and standard commercial terms (Incoterms).
• Cultural Intelligence (CQ): Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt communication and sales strategies to align with diverse cultural norms and business etiquettes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work efficiently across time zones and coordinate with internal legal, finance, and supply chain teams.
Qualifications & Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience in B2B sales, export sales, or international account management.
